2026 Championship Rules

The Championships will be held from 26th of September to 1st of November 2026
  1. Main draw Ladies' and Men's singles, and main draw Men's doubles matches will be best of 3 sets - at 6 games all a tie breaker gets played. The 3rd set should be a full set.
  2. Other matches (ladies' doubles, mixed doubles, men's over 50, all back draws) will be the best of 3 sets but the 3rd set should be a match 10 point tie-break instead of a full set.
  3. A "back draw" will be played between losers of 1st and 2nd rounds when possible. The 2nd round losers feed into the back draw in the opposite order. The back draw matches will be the best of 3 sets. The 3rd set should be a match 10 point tie-break instead of a full set.
  4. Dependent on the number of entries, a particular Championship may be played as a Round Robin competition.
  5. Round Robin matches will be the best of 3 sets. The 3rd set should be a match 10 point tie-break instead of a full set. The match tie-break shall count as a set won or lost by 1 game to 0 for the purposes of the final standing calculation.
    The final standings of the group shall be determined by the following priority:
    1. Greatest number of wins;
    2. Head to head results (if only two players are tied);
    3. Highest percentage of sets won;
    4. Highest percentage of games won;
    5. Draw by lot.
  6. In the event of rain, the match will be postponed accordingly.
  7. Umpires will be arranged for the finals ONLY.
  8. A player that is more than 15 minutes late for a match automatically forfeits the match in question.
  9. A player may be scheduled to play more than one match on a particular day.
  10. Non-payment of the entry fee may lead to to disqualification of a player.
  11. Second hand balls will be used for backdraw and handicap matches.
  12. Any issues get dealt with by the organising committee representatives and their decision is final.
  13. A player may only have TWO unavailable days over the championship period but they must be available to play over the finals weekend. Once a player has provided the date they are unavailable to play, then missing a match or needing to change will only occur under extraordinary circumstances.
